OXFORD, CT — Oxford voters decide a town charter question Tuesday, a garage proposal goes to a hearing Thursday, and two community events are coming the following week.
Here are five things to know for the week of Nov. 2–8:
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Quaker Farms School, 30 Great Oak Road. Along with state and federal offices, voters will decide whether to adopt the proposed 2026 town charter revision. Check the town's official election notice for details. Election Day voting is at the school; Town Hall is the location listed for same-day registration.
The Zoning Board of Appeals holds a hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in Town Hall's Main Meeting Room, 486 Oxford Road, on a detached garage proposed at 17 Old Country Road. The request would allow the garage to extend into the required 25-foot setback. The legal notice cites driveway constraints and the lack of a location for an emergency vehicle turnaround. The application is available in the town clerk's office.
