Danbury Company Plans to Build Plant in Oxford

Bedoukian Research plans to build a 50,000-square-foot plant in industrial park.

A Danbury manufacturer that specializes in the production of organic aroma compounds has recently purchased a 32-acre parcel on Nichols Road for $1.3 million for the purpose of expanding its operations, according to a press release submitted by Joanne Pelton, aide to First Selectman George Temple.

Bedoukian Research of Danbury plans to build a 50,000-square-foot plant on the property with an eye for future expansion in town and will bring with it an undetermined amount of new jobs, the release states, adding that the company was founded to fill a niche as a supplier of high quality specialty aroma and flavor ingredients.

Prior to closing on the Oxford parcel, Temple, Economic Development Director Andrew McGeever and several representatives from the Zoning Commission and Inland Wetlands Commission visited the Danbury plan.
