New Oxford Arts Commissioner Wants Open Mic Night

The Oxford Cultural Arts Commission has a new member with big plans.

Press Release

The Oxford Cultural Arts Commission announces the addition of Martin C. Earley as a commission member and chairman of its music program.

Martin has been a Guitarist for many years, being taught guitar by the late Johnny Napp a Jazz and Swing Guitarist of Waterbury.  Like most kids starting out he wanted to play the music of the times, which was Hendrix, Cream, The Beatles, etc.   He left the technical end of guitaring behind, discontinued lessons and set out in search of his own style, working with various bands in New England honing his skills as a player, but not satisfying his need for more creative outlets until the 80's, when the DIY attitude really blossomed.  Writing more and more songs for groups such as Editors, Space Heater Cops, Bad Beauty Kings, and others, culminated in his 1st Solo CD, Timber Shivers in 2000.   It presents songs he had kicking around since the early 80’s.    This effort and opened a brand new Songwriting direction.

Martin is currently involved with a trio from Newtown called The Hadron Big Bangers a Jazz Rock Experimental group working on their first release, while also working on a show called The Sharp Flats, doing all Acoustic originals and select covers usually solo, but with sometimes guests.  He has also independently recorded and produced 3 CD's of Ambient Soundscaping works.  Tinnitus, The Beginners Guide to Transcendence, and RenaisSeance.
