
Penny P. Kovzel, 68, of Oxford entered peaceful rest Feb. 3, 2015 at the Griffin Hospital in Derby.
She was the beloved wife of Stephen J. Kovzel.
Mrs. Kovzel was born Dec. 4, 1946 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Michael and Alice (Morris) Politis.

Penny was a retired Telecom Operator from Griffin Hospital. She was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174 American Legion Auxiliary; she was also a former 911 Dispatcher for the Oxford Ambulance Association.
Penny enjoyed flea markets and fishing, and was a New York Yankees Fan. She was lover of dogs, and rescued many.

In addition to her husband, Penny leaves her loving family including her daughter, Michelle Passander of Oxford, her son, John Kovzel (Angela Nicole) of McDonough, GA, three grandchildren, Caden, Shelby, and Colton Kovzel of McDonough, a brother, James Politis (Victoria) of Wellington, FL, a nephew, Michael and niece, Claire Politis both in Florida.
Calling Hours will be Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Penny will immediately follow at 4 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be sent to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231, or to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
