In this new series, Patch features outstanding members of the community that go above and beyond to give them the recognition they deserve.
Today we feature Mrs. DeAnne Tokarz, a local teacher who has made a difference, sent in by Litsa Costantini.
Who is your favorite teacher?
Mrs. Tokarz.
Where does she teach?
Second grade at Quaker Farms School in Oxford.
Why is she your favorite?
Mrs. Tokarz is a second grade teacher at Quaker Farms School in Oxford and is my daughter Isabella’s favorite teacher. Something happened to my daughter in second grade. The shy, quiet and reserved child came out of her shell. She was happy, open and excited to go to school every morning. This was all because she truly had a wonderful teacher.
I asked Isabella why Mrs. Tokarz is her favorite teacher. Her answer was simple - they always had fun in class and she loved when Mrs. Tokarz told stories about her kids, Johnny and Hanna.
She really pushed the kids to do their best and made it a fun, wonderful experience. She is patient, caring and just had that special extra something that makes her a wonderful teacher.
She is a teacher that my daughter will never forget. Even though Isabella is in third grade now, she still talks about Mrs. Tokarz. It would be very deserving for her to be recognized for all she does.
