Oxford Groups Present Tellabration! An Oral Tradition Celebration

Jeanne Donato will tell the story of the border wars between Connecticut and Rhode Island from the 1600's up to the present day.

From Oxford Historical Society: Tellabration is a mammoth storytelling event - and that's no Tall Tale! It's a storytelling phenomenon, made up of dozens of storytelling happenings all over the world. Its purpose is to introduce adults, as well as children, to the pleasures of the oral art of storytelling. It is one of the programs offered by The Connecticut Storytelling Center, based at Connecticut College in New London.

The Oxford Historical Society and the Friends of the Library in Oxford will host a Tellabration for adults on Sunday, November 12th at 2:00 p.m. For more information call 203-910-4574. Arnie Pritchard and Jeanne Donato will be performing. The event will be hosted by Christ Church, Quaker Farms and sponsored by the Connecticut Community Foundation. Admission is free and open to the public.

Jeanne Donato will tell the story of the border wars between Connecticut and Rhode Island from the 1600’s up to the present day. Jeanne holds a M.Ed in Storytelling in the Curriculum, and BA in Elementary Education. Besides all that, she is a Certified Master Balloon Artist, an Educational Kinesiologist & Brain Gym Instructor.

An Integrative Learning, Story, and Expressive Arts Facilitator, she is.co-author of Storytelling in Emergent Literacy: Fostering Multiple Intelligences. She offers professional development trainings, storytelling and writing artist-in-residencies programs.

As a core adjunct professor in Southern Connecticut State University’s Art of the Oral Tradition graduate program she created, and developed courses and facilitates workshops internationally.

She holds a BA in Elementary Education; A Masters in Story Arts/ Reading, integrating Storytelling into the Curriculum; and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership researching: Reducing Test Anxiety and Improving Academic Performance.
