Permanent Absentee Ballots For Oxford Voters

OXFORD, CT — Oxford officials are urging residents whose permanent physical disability or long-term illness prevents them from voting in person to see whether they qualify for permanent absentee ballot status.

Approved voters would automatically receive an absentee ballot for each election, primary and referendum in which they are eligible to vote, according to a notice posted by the town.

To apply, residents must submit a 2026 absentee ballot application to the Town Clerk's Office along with a letter from a health care provider stating that a permanent disability or long-term illness reasonably prevents them from appearing at the polls. The letter must be on the provider's letterhead.

Applications may be mailed or delivered to the Town Clerk's Office at Oxford Town Hall, 486 Oxford Road. Residents may also request that an application be mailed to them.
