Macton Corp., a local Oxford manufacturing company,has received a $650,000 loan from Connecticut Innovations, the state’s technology. Macton Corp. makes large moving metal structures and people movers for the transportation industry.
Connecticut Innovations offers flexible loans for established companies with new innovations or plans for growth in Connecticut. Their mission is to provide "ongoing support for Connecticut’s innovative, growing companies by offering flexible financing, strategic guidance and introductions to valuable partners," according to their website.
The loan to the Macton Corp. will allow the company to purchase additional equipment to continue their ongoing work of developing innovative products to reach a niche market. Macton’s work includes making a revolving stage at the Jones Beach Marina and an installation for the 1964 world’s fair, which has been relocated to Disney World.

In 2013, Macton was honored with the Make it in America Manufacturer of the Week award. The honor was created to honor the country’s manufacturers and highlight the importance of U.S. manufacturing by showcasing the contributions of manufacturers nationwide. Macton was chosen because it hires America’s best workforce.
Macton relocated to Oxford from Danbury in 1999. It is located at 116 Willenbrock Road in the Oxford Industrial Park off Route 67.
