Oxford Parents Question Special Education Services: Report

Some Oxford parents are raising concern over special education services.

OXFORD, CT — A group of Oxford parents say they have been "failed" by the public schools when it comes to special education services for their children, the Republican-American reports.

During an emotional school board meeting parents concerns centered on a lack of services and accusations that the district tries to save funds by not diagnosing dyslexia quick enough, the Rep-Am reports.

However, school officials released data showing they've received high marks for its "high quality special education services." Concerned parents say the district has spent $100,000 on legal fees over the past few years in regard to lawsuits concerning special education services.
