• State Rep wants to survey Plainville residents on quality of the water (newbritainherald.com) — Plainville residents are being asked to share their experiences with the town’s very hard but safe drinking water through a new survey open through Sept. 15. State Rep. Rebecca Martinez says responses will help guide work with the town, water utility, and state agencies, and paper copies are available at the Senior Center, Public Library, and Municipal Center.
   

• Wolcott Tech high school football preview 2026 (rep-am.com) — Lewis Mills/Wolcott Tech opens its 2026 football season at Plainville on Sept. 11, facing what coaches call a high-powered offense. With seven starters returning on both sides of the ball, the Spartans hope a stronger line, experienced quarterback, and favorable schedule will help them improve on last year’s 2–8 record.
