Ridgefield Man, 21, Arrested for Mamanasco Area Home Robberies: Police

A young man was arrested for allegedly stealing cash, jewelry, credit cards and a cell phone from Ridgefield properties.

RIDGEFIELD, CT-- The Ridgefield Police Department announed in a release that a Ridgefield man was arrested and accused of committing several burglary incidents in the Mamanasco Road area dating back to 2015.

Police said that Edward Janerico, 21, of Ridgefield, was arrested on March 9, 2016 after an investigation by Ridgefield Police Detectives.

Police said cash and jewelry were reported missing on Sept. 9, 2015 on Old Sib Road. One month later, police were notified that on Oct. 31, 2015, a resident of Mamanasco Road was robbed of $180 in cash and costume jewelry, police said in a statement.

On Nov. 2, 2015, police said that a side window on a parked vehicle on Old Sib Road was smashed, and several credit cards and a cell phone were reported missing.

Police said they are still investigating two additional incidents.

One was reported on Nov. 4, 2015 in which a resident told police that a male subject allegedly forced his way into a Mamanasco Road home with a knife, police said. The second is a burglary on Nov. 5, 2015 on Ledges Road in which a laptop computer was reported missing, police stated.

Janerico was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of criminal mischief, fifth-degree larceny and two counts of sixth-degree larceny.

He is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 23, 2016.
