72-Hour Marathon Hockey Game Planned at Ridgefield Ice Arena
The 72-hour continuous hockey game is played by skaters that range in age from 16-75 who play for charity.

RIDGEFIELD, CT-- Play for purpose, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is planning their third annual charity hockey game from April 28 through May 1, 2016, according to their website.
Play for Purpose is a group of male and female hockey players who range in age from 16 to 75 years old who play a 72-hour continuous hockey game to raise awareness and funds for multiple charities, their website states.

"The players love the game play for something beyond the love of the sport," the charity stated.
The nonprofit has raised more than $90,000 since its inception. The group has donated to Pets for Vets, connecticut Children's Medical Center and Connecticut Burns Care Foundation and Southern Connecticut Storm Special Hockey.
