ACT of Connecticut Wins 11 Top BroadwayWorld Connecticut Awards for an Equity Theatre – including “Best Musical” and “Theatre of the Year”!
Ridgefield, CT – ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) of Connecticut, a premier Equity theatre located in Ridgefield Connecticut is thrilled to have been awarded 11 of the 2018 BroadwayWorld Connecticut Awards for an Equity Theatre, including “Best Musical” and “Theatre of the Year 2018.” Nominations were reader-submitted and voted on by the theatre community.
“We’re truly honored to have our incredible productions recognized by the theatre community during our inaugural year,” said Daniel C. Levine, Artistic Director for ACT of CT. “We are also extremely thankful for our supporters who voted for us and continue to appreciate the power of regional theatre!”

ACT of Connecticut’s production of “Evita” won awards in the Equity categories for: Best Musical, Best Director in a Musical (Daniel C. Levine), Best Actor in a Musical (Angel Lozada), Best Choreography (Charlie Sutton), Best Ensemble Performance in a Musical, Best Costume Design (Brenda Phelps), Best Lighting Design (Jack Mehler), Best Musical Direction (Evan Roider), Best Scenic Design (Jack Mehler) and Best Sound Design (Stephen Jensen). ACT of Connecticut was also recognized as Equity Theatre of the Year.

ACT of Connecticut’s next production is the reimagined, multimedia adaptation of Stephen Schwartz’s musical WORKING.
