The November edition of Aldrich After Hours celebrates Raven Halfmoon’s exhibition Flags of Our Mothers and the launch of the accompanying exhibition catalogue. Poet and NDN Girls Book Club founder Kinsale Drake (Diné), will be hosting a poetry reading on site. There will also be short tours of the exhibitions on view, a pop-up shop, a DJ spinning vinyl, and beer and wine for sale. Aldrich After Hours will take place on Friday, November 3 from 5 to 8 pm and tickets are available at thealdrich.org.
The Museum will be celebrating the launch of Raven Halfmoon’s exhibition catalogue published on the occasion of Flags of Our Mothers, on view at The Aldrich through January 7, 2024. The catalogue features an interview of Raven Halfmoon by Amy Smith-Stewart, an essay by Rachel Adams, and a poem by Kinsale Drake. The catalogue will be available for purchase at the event. Kinsale Drake will be reading Praise song for hands, the poem commissioned by the Museum for Raven Halfmoon’s publication, in addition to other works. Talented local Indigenous poets will join Drake to give poetry readings.
Relative Arts, a brick-and-mortar community space, open atelier, and shop displaying contemporary Indigenous fashion and design located in New York City’s East Village will be hosting a pop-up shop on site.
Vinyl sounds will be presented by The Pressing Plant, a collaboration by Semilla Café + Radio and Cafeteria Radio that incorporate analog recordings to promote a sense of discovery and a shared communal experience for music lovers.
