August 16, 2012 Ridgefield, Connecticut – 25 Prospect Street LLC announced today that they have closed on the land for The Prospector at 25 Prospect St., Fairfield County, Connecticut. Construction will commence on Monday August 20 with a projected opening in Spring 2014.
The three-screen Prospector Theater combines cutting edge technology with a family-friendly environment and diverse films and events, all under one roof. Located on the site of Ridgefield’s first movie theater and full of rich history, The Prospector will be rebuilt so that it can reclaim its past as the entertainment center of Downtown Ridgefield. The theater is the vision Valerie Jensen, a longtime Ridgefield resident and president of SPHERE Inc, whose goal is to provide employment opportunities for the community and for individuals with disabilities.
"I am thrilled that closing has come to fruition and that construction will commence immediately," says Jensen. "The Prospector is looking forward to being a part of a number of exciting events in Downtown Ridgefield."
