A memorial service to celebrate the life of Billings "Billy" Sibley Fuess, IV, 22, will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 351 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT. The family will greet friends after the service in the North Hall.
Billy died January 18, 2012. Born April 24, 1989, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of Mrs. Wendy Fuess of Blythewood, SC, and Dr. Bill Fuess of Ridgefield. He attended Scotland Elementary, East Ridge Middle and Ridgefield High School. He graduated from Port Townsend High School in Port Townsend, WA.
As a youth, Billy attended St. Stephen’s Church and was a Cub Scout with Pack #116.
Billy played RBA (Ridgefield Basketball Association) basketball from kindergarten through high school. He was a goalie on the Soccer Club of Ridgefield Travel Team and at Ridgefield High School. Billy was a FIFA certified soccer referee and a basketball referee with RBA.
Billy was a junior studying Criminal Justice and Psychology at the University of South Carolina. He was very artistic and had worked for BADD Habits, as a Graphic Design T-Shirt artist, while in Port Townsend, WA. He had a love for the outdoors, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, sailing, rafting and fishing. He loved music and was a proud University of South Carolina Gamecock. He was a likeable witty young man, who was the proud "parent" of Carly and Deena, animals that he adopted from local shelters in Washington and Columbia, South Carolina. Billy and his family adopted two cats from ROAR.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Wendy Fuess and Steven Friedenberg of Blythewood, SC; father and step-mother, Dr. Bill Fuess and Pamela Miles of Ridgefield, CT; brother, Andrew Fuess of West Lake Village, CA; step-sister, Hollie Friedenberg of Westport, CT; step-brothers, Dylan Fitzpatrick of Brooklyn, NY, and Ian Fitzpatrick of Denver, CO.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grey Wolf Ranch, PO Box 102, Port Townsend, WA 98368, the ROAR Donofrio Family Animal Shelter, 45 South Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877 or to an animal shelter of your choice in honor of Billy's love for animals.
