Your family's favorite films back on the big screen - safe and socially distanced with limited capacity screenings!

Big Screen Magic is back at The Ridgefield Playhouse! Your family’s favorite animated films are returning with safe, socially distanced screenings on a single screen in a 500 seat theater! Come celebrate the stories, characters and places beyond our imagination that you can only find at the movies! Screenings include Monsters vs. Aliens on April 10, Boss Baby on April 17, Sing on April 22, Shrek on April 25, and Shrek 2 on April 29. The films are part of the Bruce Bennett Nissan Family Series and Cohen and Wolf, P.C. Movie Series.
When a meteor full of space gunk transforms Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) into a giant, the government renames her Ginormica and confines her to a secret compound with other monsters, like bug-headed Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie). When an extraterrestrial robot lands on Earth and begins a rampage, Gen. W.R. Monger persuades the president to send Ginormica and her fellow monsters to battle the machine and save the planet. See Monsters vs. Aliens battle it out on Saturday, April 10 at 4pm and 7pm.
A new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator — a wildly imaginative 7-year-old named Tim. The most unusual Boss Baby (Alec Baldwin) arrives at Tim’s home in a taxi, wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase. The instant sibling rivalry must soon be put aside when Tim discovers that Boss Baby is actually a spy on a secret mission, and only he can help thwart a dastardly plot that involves an epic battle between puppies and babies. Check out Boss Baby on Saturday, April 17 at 4pm and 7pm.
Dapper Koala Buster Moon presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. An eternal optimist, and a bit of a scoundrel, he loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Facing the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he takes one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition. Five contestants emerge: a mouse, a timid elephant, a pig, a gorilla and a punk-rock porcupine. Sing along when Sing hits the big screen on Thursday, April 22 at 4pm and 7pm.
Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek (Mike Myers) whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow). Determined to save their home — not to mention his — Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) to be Farquaad’s bride. Rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret. See Shrek’s 20th Anniversary Screening on Sunday, April 25 at 3pm and 7pm.
If seeing Shrek leaves you wanting more – reserve your seats for Shrek 2 on Thursday, April 29 at 4pm and 7pm. After returning from their honeymoon and showing home movies to their friends, Shrek and Fiona learn that her parents have heard that she has married her true love and wish to invite him to their kingdom, called Far Far Away. The catch is: Fiona’s parents are unaware of the curse that struck their daughter and have assumed she married Prince Charming, not a 700-pound ogre with horrible hygiene and a talking donkey pal.
