Baseball Done After Bristol Central Shutout

A 4-0 loss concludes a 13-10 season for the Tigers.

In a span of 24 hours, the Ridgefield High School baseball team went from scoring 15 runs to getting shut out, which sums up the up-and-down nature of the Tigers' season.

Ridgefield lost, 4-0, to No. 4 Bristol Central on Thursday in the second round of the CIAC Class LL state tournament. A day earlier, the 20th-seeded Tigers routed No. 13 Masuk, 15-1.

Ridgefield, which made the FCIAC playoffs for the third straight season, finished the year at 13-10. Bristol Central (19-3) moves on to face No. 5 seed Greenwich in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

On Thursday, the Tigers managed only four hits off Bristol Central starter Tyler Cyr, who went the distance.

Ridgefield allowed single runs in the second, third, fourth and sixth innings.
