Bette L. Allan, 83, of Ridgefield, Passed Away
Mrs. Allan was a Ridgefield graduate and a member of the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield.

Bette L. (Mathews) Allan, 83 of Ridgefield, passed away on October 14, 2015. She was the loving wife of the late Donald G. Allan.
Mrs. Allan was born in Glen Head, NY on September 1, 1932; a daughter of the late James and Mary (O’Connor) Mathews. A lifelong Ridgefield resident, Mrs. Allan was a graduate of Ridgefield High School and she was the Manager of the Boy’s Department at the family business; Allan’s Men’s and Boy’s Store.
Mrs. Allan was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield. She is survived by a son, Rev. Mark D. Allan and his wife, Barbara, of Pawling, NY; and a daughter, Bonnie McCarthy and her husband, Richard, of Ridgefield. Mrs. Allan is also survived by four grandchildren; Michael McCarthy, Brian McCarthy, Sean Allan and Blair Allan; three great grandchildren, Kevin Nolan, Fiona Nolan and Seamus Allan as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held at the First Congregational Church; 103 Main Street, Ridgefield on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11 AM with the Rev. Dr. Charles Hambrick-Stowe officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions to the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association; 90 East Ridge Road, Ridgefield would be appreciated. Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
