Body Of Missing Swimmer Recovered In Ridgefield: Police
Crews have recovered the body of the swimmer who went missing at Lake Naraneka, in Pierrepont State Park on Monday.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Crews have recovered the body of the swimmer who went missing at Lake Naraneka, in Pierrepont State Park on Monday.
After 76 hours of searching the lake, the swimmer, identified as 31-year-old Cody Rugar from New Fairfield, was recovered.
Ridgefield Police were first notified shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday.

"Our condolences go out to the Rugar family and anyone else affected by this tragic incident," Ridgefield Police Capt. Jeff Raines said in a statement released Friday morning.
Nearly 20 law enforcement and rescue organizations assisted in the search across the week. Crews included those from the Norwalk Dive Team, Ridgefield Police, Ridgefield Fire, Danbury Fire, Danbury Dive Team and the Department of Environmental Protection.

Ultimately, the Westport Police Department's Dive Team was contacted on Thursday at around 7 p.m., to make the recovery, Raines said.
This incident will remain under investigation by the Ridgefield Police Department's Detective Division.
An autopsy will be performed Friday, by the Connecticut Medical Examiner's Office.
