Boil Water Advisory In Effect For Over 2,000 Ridgefield Residents
The Ridgefield Office of Emergency Management is distributing water at Yanity Gym while supplies last.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — A Boil Water Advisory has been issued to approximately 2,400 of Aquarion's customers in Ridgefield, following a water main break in the area of Woodcock Lane.
Due to the reduction in water pressure caused by the break, there is a possibility of contamination of drinking water, Aquarion officials explain on their website.
"In situations like this, the Department of Public Health recommends, as a precaution, that customers boil their water before consuming it or use bottled water until it can be confirmed that the water is safe to drink. This precautionary advisory will remain in effect until further notice," according to the water company.
