Boys Lacrosse Seeded 5th In Class L Tourney...

Seven Ridgefield High School teams have qualified for the state tournament in their respective sports.

Leading the way is the boys' lacrosse team, which garnered a No. 5 seed in the Class L state tournament. The Tigers (12-4) host No. 12 Grenwich (8-6) on Thursday at 3 p.m. in a rematch of an FCIAC playoff game won by the Cardinals last week.

If Ridgefield advances, it will take on either No. 4 Fairfield Prep (12-4) or No. 13 Southington (9-7) in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Here's a look at the schedules for the other teams:

Baseball—The Tigers (12-8)  are the No. 12 seed in the Class LL tournament and play at No. 13 Masuk (13-7) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The winner  faces No. 4 Bristol Central (17-3) or No. 29 Hall (9-11) in the second round on Wednesday.

Softball—Ridgefield (8-12) is the No. 24 seed in the Class LL tournament and visits No.9 Cheshire (15-5) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. If the Tigers pull the upset, they would face either No. 8 West Haven (16-4) or No. 25 South Windsor (16-4) in the second round on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Girls Lacrosse—Ridgefield (7-9) is the No. 23 seed in Division II and plays a qualifying game at 10 Staples (11-5) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The winner takes on No. 7 New Milford (11-4) or No. 26 Norwalk (6-9-1) in the first round on Thursday.

Boys Volleyball—Ridgefield (13-5) earned the No. 6 seed in the Class L tournament and hosts No. 11 Bridgeport Central (10-8) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The winner plays at No. 3 Xavier (17-1) in the quarterfinals on Friday at 7 p.m.

Girls Tennis—Ridgefield (9-7) is seeded No. 21 in the Class L tournament and faces No. 12 Hall (13-4) in a qualifying match at Staples on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. The winner takes on No. 5 Staples (15-2) or No. 28 Westhill (8-8) later in the day at Westhill at 3 p.m.
