The Glass House

Enjoy a rare opportunity to explore The Glass House and its grounds during the&nbsp;Golden Hour.&nbsp;This special two-hour guided tour offers a&nbsp;golden-hour experience&nbsp;of the site and its many distinct architectural landmarks. In addition, see how the&nbsp;lighting design by Richard Kelly&nbsp;– a pioneer and master of modern architectural lighting and a collaborator with Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe –&nbsp;transforms the Glass House&nbsp;as the sun sinks in the sky.
This tour runs&nbsp;two hours&nbsp;in duration and is formulated to facilitate&nbsp;photography for personal use.&nbsp;It includes access to the Glass House, Brick House, Painting Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Da Monsta, with a&nbsp;three-quarter mile walk over paved, grass, and gravel paths.
Please note the following:
This tour runs&nbsp;rain or shine.&nbsp;All&nbsp;ticket sales are final.&nbsp;No refunds will be issued, but tickets may be transferred to another date or program.
All&nbsp;tours depart from the Glass House Visitor Center + Design Store&nbsp;located at 199 Elm Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Visitors are transported to the site in a shuttle which departs promptly.

Want to learn how to take great photos and videos with your iPhone? Lance Whitney will show you how to use all the iPhone’s camera features and modes, how to compose and capture the right shots, and how to use certain effects to enhance your photos. We’ll also look at the Photos tool on the iPhone to teach you how to edit and organize your photos. Please have your iPhone at class so you can try out the different tools and tricks that we cover. Basic Digital Camera Operation 
Need help understanding how to use your DSLR camera? Is the instruction manual that came with it almost impossible to understand? bring your DSLR or mirrorless camera and manual to this class. This course will guide you to knowing how to take pictures you can be proud of and having a good knowledge of photography in general. All relevant buttons and switches will be explained so that your picture will come out well exposed and sharply focused. Whether you are interested in photographing your friends and family, nature, landscapes or sports, this course will certainly enhance your talents. You will learn how to freeze the action in sports; create beautiful portraits with that blurry background, and use your flash as professional fashion and wedding photographers do.. You'll become truly confident in your picture taking abilities. Instructor John Zappala has a degree in fine arts and many years of experience as a photographer and photography instructor.

Join us at the Ridgefield Library on Thursday, May 21st, at 6:30 pm for a unique A250 Community Conversation as we gather at tables, enjoy food and drink of the Revolutionary Era, and discuss and draft our own "modern" version of the Declaration of Independence.&nbsp; We’ll learn about tavern culture and its importance in hammering out the roadmap to democracy.
The Second Continental Congress discussed, debated and wordsmithed the&nbsp;Declaration of Independence&nbsp;not just in the formal setting of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, but equally in the rooms of the nearby City Tavern, a genteel spot for food and drink.
Our facilitator for&nbsp;Tabling the Declaration&nbsp;is Ramin Ganeshram, Executive Director of the Westport Historical Society, food journalist and author of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.skyhorsepublishing.com/9781950691975/the-generals-cook/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">The General’s Cook: A Novel</a>.

Frida – Viva La Vida is a cinematic documentary event film that highlights the two sides of Frida Kahlo’s spirit: a revolutionary pioneering artist of contemporary feminism, and on the other, a human being tormented by agony and love.&nbsp;
With Asia Argento as narrator, the two faces of the artist will be revealed, by pursuing a common thread consisting of Frida’s own words: letters, diaries and private confessions.
