Students in Grades 3-5 are invited to the Ridgefield Library on Thursday, May 21st, at 4:30 pm for a bit of crafty Revolutionary fun!
Children will learn about lantern signals and the use of punched tin lanterns during the American Revolution. We will create our own lanterns out of aluminum foil and a battery-operated tea light.

First Congregational Church

The Archaeological Society of Connecticut’s Spring Meeting is on Saturday, May 16, at the First Congregational Church, 103 Main Street, Ridgefield, beginning with registration at 9:30 a.m. The daylong program will focus on Revolutionary War archaeology in Connecticut and the Northeast, with presentations by Nicholas Bellantoni, Sarah Sportman, David E. Leslie, Ellery Thomas Leary, and Kevin McBride on topics including Revolutionary War sites, the Rochambeau Camp in Bolton, non-invasive archaeological methods, Putnam Memorial State Park, and new investigations of the Battle of Ridgefield. Following the afternoon presentations, Dr. Kevin McBride and historian Keith Jones will lead a guided tour of the Battle of Ridgefield, highlighting important landmarks and engagement areas, with a reception to follow. Admission is $15 for the general public, $10 for ASC/FOSA members, and $8 for students. Camerata d’Amici to Present “Because You Sang, I Sing” May 17 Choral group Camerata d’Amici is delighted to present its spring concert “Because You Sang, I Sing” on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, <a href="https://cameratadamici.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b1936e9306eb66aa00fd64166&amp;id=b35661fb25&amp;e=40ad5f72af" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">6 Ivy Hill Road, Ridgefield, CT 06877</a>. 

Conducted by Kristin Sponheim, the concert will feature music that pays tribute to those that came before us, in honor of America’s 250th celebration.Selections will include “Because You Sang,” by Arianne Abele, “Shenandoah,” arr. James Erb, and “Hold On,” arr. Uzee Brown.
Camerata d’Amici is an auditioned choir made up of singers from Fairfield and Westchester counties. “Because You Sang, I Sing” will feature performances by the full group and a chamber ensemble, as well as men’s and women’s pieces. Featured vocalists will include Thomas Carr (Danbury), James Lee (Wilton), Jeanine Pardey (Ridgefield), and Doug Planker (Monroe).
The choir will be accompanied by Liang-Fang Chang (piano), and Elliot Wallace (percussion).
Tickets at the door are $30 for adults and $10 for youth 18 and under. In addition, see how the&nbsp;lighting design by Richard Kelly&nbsp;– a pioneer and master of modern architectural lighting and a collaborator with Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe –&nbsp;transforms the Glass House&nbsp;as the sun sinks in the sky.
This tour runs&nbsp;two hours&nbsp;in duration and is formulated to facilitate&nbsp;photography for personal use.&nbsp;It includes access to the Glass House, Brick House, Painting Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Da Monsta, with a&nbsp;three-quarter mile walk over paved, grass, and gravel paths.

This tour runs&nbsp;rain or shine.&nbsp;All&nbsp;ticket sales are final.&nbsp;No refunds will be issued, but tickets may be transferred to another date or program.
All&nbsp;tours depart from the Glass House Visitor Center + Design Store&nbsp;located at 199 Elm Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Visitors are transported to the site in a shuttle which departs promptly.
