Candidate's Forum 2025
LWVR and Ridgefield Library host candidates for Board of Finance and Board of Education
On Tuesday evening, 9/30, the Ridgefield Library and the LWV of Ridgefield co-sponsored a Candidate’s Forum for those candidates running in the Board of Finance and Board of Election races in November 2025. All candidates were invited to participated.
The Board of Finance candidates, Mr. Marty Heiser, Ms. Andrea Beebe, Mr. Andrew Okrongly and Mr. Mike Rettger, started the evening and answered questions posed by League Moderator Ms. Tisha Rossi, who is the Co-President of the LWVCT. The questions were submitted prior to the debate by attendees and LWVR members. Those attending enjoyed thoughtful and insightful views on budgeting, financial challenges for the town, capital issues and the necessity of balancing priorities for Ridgefield.
The second forum for the Board of Education, featured, Ms. Kathryn Graf, Ms. Debra Franceschini, Mr. Scott Sigel, Ms. Angela Rice and Ms. Tina Malhotra, and covered topics ranging from Special Education, board relations, the “Master Plan” on capital items and the current review of cell phone use at RHS.
The event was taped by the library and will be posted later, so that those unable to attend will be able to see the forum. The LWV of Ridgefield is grateful to those candidates who accepted our invitation, and to all the volunteers from the league. Special thanks to our moderator, Ms. Tisha Rossi and to Brenda McKinley the Director of the Ridgefield Library, and all the library staff who helped to make the evening a success.
