Car Stolen From Garage While Owner Was Warming It Up: Ridgefield PD
The suspect was caught on home surveillance footage, and appeared to be armed with a handgun, according to police.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Police are looking for the public's assistance with their investigation of a stolen car in Ridgefield.
The Ridgefield Police Department was notified of the stolen vehicle at approximately 4:43 Thursday morning. The caller told police that his 2017 white Honda Pilot was warming up in his garage on Scodon Drive when it was taken.
A check of the home surveillance footage showed a man in his early 20s/late teens approaching the open garage before driving off in the Honda, according to police.

The car was later recovered a short distance away, unoccupied, after it became disabled.
The suspect appeared to be armed with a handgun and was wearing dark-colored athletic style pants with a light stripe down the sides, a facial mask and a light colored hoodie pulled over his head, according to Ridgefield Police Capt. Jeff Raines.

The Ridgefield police are taking the opportunity to remind residents never to approach a suspect. Instead, The proper course of action is to safely get the best description possible — including the physical description of the people and vehicles involved, and their direction of travel — and call 911.
