Classic Films Return To The Ridgefield Playhouse
"Dr. No" and "Pretty In Pink" will have special screenings Jan. 31 and Feb. 12.

With many movie studios still delaying the release of new films, it gives audiences a chance to rediscover some of the classics! The Ridgefield Playhouse and Cohen and Wolf, P.C. Movie Series are partnering with Fathom Events and TCM Big Screen Classic to bring iconic films back to the big screen, giving our community an opportunity to get out and enjoy movies in a safe and socially distanced environment. Reserve tickets now for limited capacity screenings of the first James Bond film Dr. No on Sunday, January 31 and the 35th Anniversary of the 80s classic Pretty In Pink on February 12! Each film is presented with pristine digital projection, movie-theater-quality sound, and in its original aspect ratio, as they were intended by the filmmakers. The TCM Big Screen Classics series is further enhanced with fascinating pre- and post-feature insights presented by popular Turner Classic Movie hosts, including TCM Primetime host Ben Mankiewicz. Make it a great night out and visit one of Ridgefield’s wide variety of restaurants to enjoy dinner before or after the show.

See the film that launched the James Bond saga when Dr. No, starring Sean Connery, comes to the big screen at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, January 31 at 7pm. Bond's mission takes him to Jamaica, where mysterious energy waves are interfering with U.S. missile launches. As he unravels the truth, Bond must fight deadly assassins and sexy femme fatales as he searches for the headquarters of the sinister Dr. No, who is implementing an evil plan of world domination. Jack Lord and Ursula Andress also star.
Kick off Valentine’s Day weekend with the 80s classic Pretty In Pink when it celebrates its 35th Anniversary at The Ridgefield Playhouse. The beloved John Hughes and Molly Ringwald classic returns on Friday, February 12 at 7pm. Andie (Molly Ringwald) is an outcast at her Chicago high school, hanging out either with her older boss (Annie Potts), who owns the record store where she works, or her quirky classmate Duckie (Jon Cryer), who has a crush on her. When one of the rich and popular kids at school, Blane (Andrew McCarthy), asks Andie out, it seems too good to be true. As Andie starts falling for Blane, she begins to realizes that dating someone from a different social sphere is not easy. Get ready to reminisce with the film that features 80s hits “Pretty In Pink” by the Psychedelic Furs, “If You Leave” by Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, “Left of Center” by Suzanne Vega (ft. Joe Jackson), “Do Wot You Do” by INXS, “Bring On The Dancing Horses” by Echo & Bunnymen and many more!
