College Basketball Player Kurt Steidl of Ridgefield Scores 1,000th Point: Report
Steidl, a former standout for Ridgefield High School, has started in virtually all of the University of Vermont's games this season.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Kurt Steidl, a Ridgefield resident and senior on the University of Vermont men's basketball team, scored his 1,000th career point on Jan. 5, part of a 20-point performance in a victory over the University of Maine.
Steidl became the 35th Catamounts player to score 1,000 points for the school. UVM handily won the road game, 90-77.
Standing 6 foot, 6 inches tall, Steidl has started in 15 of 16 games this season for UVM, reports The News Times, and the former Class of '13 student completed a similar 1,000-point feat for Ridgefield High School.
