'Eccentric Women Of Ridgefield' Oct. 15, 16 At Ridgefield Theater Barn

This fascinating hour of theater features the stories of four unique women that left their distinctive mark on Ridgefield.

(Theater Barn Executive Director)

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is ridiculously elated to be partnering with the Ridgefield Historical Society to bring you the Eccentric Women of Ridgefield!

Based on the original writings of Dr. Darla Shaw and adapted for our stage by Stephen Robbins, this fascinating hour of theater features the stories of four unique women that left their distinctive mark on our beautiful town with their originality: Sarah Bishop (the hermit from West Mountain Road), Mary Louise Beatrice Olcott (the Grand Dame of Main Street), Carmela Sabilia (the Peanut Lady) and Jacqueline Seligmann (the Cat Lady).

The showcase of monologues is directed by Linda Seay and features Charlotte Hampden, Sheri Rak, Benna Strober, and Emily Volpintesta, with Ridgefield's Poet Laureate, Barb Fulton Jennes, making a guest appearance.

This limited engagement will be presented Saturday, October 15th at 8pm and Sunday, October 16th at 2pm. Seating is cabaret-style, and patrons are encouraged to bring food and drink to enjoy before the show. Sunday's matinee will include a special afternoon tea provided by the National Charity League.

Each performance, presented without intermission, will include a talkback with the actors, the director, Stephen Robbins, and Sally Sanders from the Historical Society, filling in for Dr. Shaw.
