A Day of Civic Inspiration: Free & Open to the Public
Girl Scouts in Government + Ms President US Signature Campaign & Election

Wilton, CT — On Sunday, April 26th, the Clune Center at Wilton High School will come alive with energy,
leadership, and civic engagement as two dynamic programs join together for a powerful, girl-centered day
of learning and action: Girl Scouts in Government Day 2026 and the Ms President US 2026 Signature
Campaign & Election. This unique, two-part event (offered free and open to the public) invites girls of all
ages to explore how government works, why their voices matter, and how they can step into leadership
roles in their communities and beyond.
Part One: Girl Scouts in Government Day (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
In partnership with Ms President US, Girl Scouts in Government Day offers an engaging, fast-paced
introduction to civics, leadership, and activism. Led by Alison Smith (Ms President US leader and board
member, and Girl Scout Troop 50373 leader) participants will rotate through interactive, mentor-led
stations designed to spark curiosity and confidence.
Participants will explore:
-Activating Your Girl Power: Why girls in government matter
-How Voting Works: Including alternative systems
-Understanding Government: Local, state, and federal structures
-Activism in Action: How to create meaningful change
Participants will complete a scavenger hunt-style questionnaire, encouraging active learning as they visit
each station. Ms President US high school mentors, many of whom are also Girl Scouts, will guide each
experience, creating a powerful peer-to-peer learning environment. A special feature includes a book
signing and resource station led by Senior Girl Scout Emily Smith, as part of her Gold Award Project. All
participants who complete the stations will receive a commemorative patch at no cost. (Girl Scout badges
associated with the experience can be purchased separately by troops.)
Part Two: Ms President US Signature Campaign & Election (1:00 PM – 2:30 PM)
Girls and their families are invited to witness democracy in action.
From 1:00-2:30 PM, the Clune Center will transform into a vibrant election space where girls can:

Election winners will be announced at approximately 2:15 PM, followed by a celebratory cupcake reception
for all attendees.
