Eccentric 77-Year Old Stays Fit With Belly Dancing (VIDEO)

Ridgefield resident Darla Shaw doesn't let age stop her from living a healthy and fulfilled life!

There is no doubt that 77-year-old Darla Shaw is an eccentric…and she is proud of that label. When she is not teaching as a full-time college professor at Western Connecticut State University, she may be playing in her Kazoo and steel drum band… or attending her belly dancing class, or teaching Alzheimer awareness to middle school students, or traveling to Bhutan to help underprivileged kids, … and these are just a few of her weekly activities… the list goes on! Her endless energy, desire to learn new things and share this knowledge with others is an inspiration to anyone one at any age!

In this brand new episode of a HooplaHa original series, The Wonderful World of Darla, Darla reveals what she does to keep her mind and body stay healthy and active. If she’s not teaching aerobics, she’s enjoying the cool beats in her belly dancing class. At any given day she may also be working fine tuning her lay ups playing half court basketball, or just keeping her feet busy with a little tap dancing. Whatever Darla is doing, she’s having fun doing it and keeping herself healthy for years to come!
