Ridgefield's Discovery Center invites the public to trek along for an "Earth Day Family Hike" Thursday, April 22, from 1-2pm. The group will meet at Ridgebury Elementary School, 112 Bennetts Farm Rd., Ridgefield.
This year celebrates the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and hikers of all ages will explore the wonders of nature through the Peterson Gorge and Ridgebury Slop Open Spaces.
Participants will learn about animal habitats and what local animals are doing to adapt to the changing seasons, and are welcome to bring a snack to enjoy after the hike.
