Ridgefield Little League Winter Programs - Coach and Parent Clinics

As you know, our program is 100% volunteer. Many of our coaches and members of the board are parents of current or past players. One such parent, Steve Black, RBR Certified and Cal Ripken Certified coach, has offered to manage our in-house training program and has volunteered a considerable amount of time to help build the program. With his help, we would like to kick off the 2012 season’s training and development program with a series of coach’s clinics designed to give our existing and future coaches the tools they need to help our players reach their potential as participants in the RLL softball program. This series is for all parents, including all former and current coaches and those who want to explore being more involved in Ridgefield Softball.

During these clinics, participants will learn how to: Work effectively with both current and new coaches and assistant coaches; run an efficient and effective practice; create an effective practice template; expand confidence and consistency in training and developing the players; provide a resource to review issues with skill development; focus on fundamental skill development (hitting, throwing and fielding) and game situations; nurture specific positional play (pitching, catching, first base); and The Rules of the Game.
