Ridgefield Newcomers Open House

Newcomers Club to Hold Annual Open House

The Newcomers Club of Ridgefield will host its annual Open House this month on Tuesday, September 27th from 7p.m. to 9p.m. and again on Wednesday, September 28th from 9:30a.m. to 11:30a.m.  The event will be located at the Ridgefield Community Center (Lounsbury House) at 316 Main Street, Ridgefield.

Co-Presidents Meredith Thrutchley and Kristina Mickool invite Ridgefielders to help kick off the club’s 2011-2012 season.  “Some new activities this year include Family Fun events and Hiking Club,” said Ms. Thrutchley.  “We still have our perennial favorites like Ladies’, Mens’ and Couples’ Night Out, Ladies’ Lunch, Winetasters, Empty Nesters, Mens’ Poker, Golf, Book Club, Bunco, Knitting, Playgroups, Tots events and more.”

The event is free, includes refreshments, music and other entertainment, and children are most welcome.  “At the morning session,” said Thrutchley, “we will have Judy of the Enchanted Garden hosting a music class for kids.  The Open House is a great way to meet some new friends, catch up with people you already know, and learn about the great activities we offer.”

The Newcomers Club is a non-profit group that has been welcoming new residents to Ridgefield since 1967 and provides year-round activities for families, singles, couples, and children. The Club is open to residents of Ridgefield who are new to the community, or who have recently had a life-changing event.  For more information, visit www.ridgefieldnewcomers.org.
