Fake $100 Bills Passed In Ridgefield: PD

A person of interest is being sought by police.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Police are investigating five instances of fraud in which counterfeit $100 bills were passed at local businesses. All the incidents took place on Jan. 5 between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

The suspect purchased an item valued at $30 or less, said Capt. Jeff Kreitz, police spokesman. The pictured man is a person of interest in the investigation.

Bills were passed at businesses on Main, Governor and Catoonah streets as well as Bailey Avenue.
