First Selectman Marconi Tests Positive For Coronavirus Again

First Selectman Rudy Marconi first tested positive for the coronavirus in early April, and thought he was on the mend.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — First Selectman Rudy Marconi was tested a second time for the new coronavirus, on Friday, and the results came back positive, the Ridgefield Press is reporting.

Marconi told the Ridgefield Press that doctors have advised him to take another week. He said that he would not be returning to town hall until he tests negative for the virus.

Marconi first announced on April 6 that had the infection, despite having been "extremely careful in following all the directives."

In a news conference with Gov. Ned Lamont on April 29, Marconi said he "was on oxygen for eight straight days, 24/7," as part of his first treatment for COVID-19.
