Giles Leads District II To Win In CHSCA All-Star Baseball Series
Giles has two hits and two RBI in 4-1 victory over District IV.
Ridgefield varsity baseball player Mark Giles helped lead the District II All-Stars to a 4-1 victory over District IV on Tuesday in the first round of the 37th annual Connecticut High School Coaches Association Senior All-Star series at Plainville High School.
Giles had two hits and two RBI for District II, which will face District III for the championship on Wednesday at Plainville at 5 p.m.
District III defeated District I, 2-0, in Tuesday's other game.

Giles, who will play his college ball at Lenoir-Rhyne College in North Carolina, gave District II a 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the bottom of the first inning. He then doubled and scored in the third inning to make it 3-0.
The District II club includes a number of FCIAC players. Wilton's Kart Marut started the game and earned the win with two scoreless innings.

Two other FCIAC hurlers—David Speer of Staples and Ryan Walsh of Trinity Catholic—came on in relief to help complete a four-hitter for District II.
