It Costs (Slightly) More to Build in Ridgefield

Ridgefield Board of Selectmen have approved a slight increase in the cost of building permits.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — If you are planning to install a new kitchen in your home, it will cost you more now than it would last year in Ridgefield. The town's Board of Selectmen have just approved a slight increase in the cost of building permits, the Ridgefield Press is reporting. The bump is slight: an increase of only $2 for every $1,000 of project cost above the first thousand.

Previously, the fee was $50 for the first $1,000 of a project, and $8 for each thousand after. The current plan keeps the cost of entry at $50, but levies $10 for every $1,000 thereafter.
