Keep Ridgefield On Top - Vote Row A

Most qualified: Rettger, Okrongly for BOE & Graf, Rice, Sigel, Malhotra for BOE

What do I look for in a candidate? A deep knowledge of the position desired, a laser-like focus on the issues, and out-of-the-box, innovative ideas to keep Ridgefield at the top of its game.

Several weeks ago, I attended the League of Women Voters Candidate forum at the Ridgefield Library. The larger-than-normal attendance of candidates allowed us to learn more about their positions on the issues they will be charged with navigating if elected. In-person events like this are so valuable in evaluating the whole candidate, not just the scripted comments made in print. While I admire all the candidates' willingness to serve and their love for Ridgefield, it was clear to me who deserves my vote.

Andrew Okrongly and Mike Rettger, running for re-election to the Board of Finance, demonstrated their deep knowledge of finance along with their impressive accomplishments in their first terms. Clearly strategic, I am confident they will keep Ridgefield on a sound financial path.

I was pleased to see a few newcomers running for the Board of Education, each bringing unique skills. Kathryn Graf brings years of financial experience. Scott Sigel brings years of work with various educational non-profits. Angela Rice brings her experience on “both sides” - as a teacher and a PTA parent. They displayed a deep knowledge of the issues facing Ridgefield, clearly having done their homework, and will hit the ground running to work for our children. Incumbent Tina Malhotra displayed the leadership qualities that have made her so successful as the current BOE Chair.

Ridgefield is a well-run town that is consistently on the top lists for education, safety, and livability. I want to keep it that way. These candidates are clearly the most qualified. Early voting is in progress at Town Hall until November 2nd. Vote Row A all the way to keep Ridgefield on top.
