UPDATE: Ridgefield Coronavirus: Death Toll Now 13

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Town Health Director Ed Briggs has confirmed another resident has died from COVID-19. The death toll from the virus as of Tuesday is 13.

Briggs also confirmed there are 110 cases of the new coronavirus in the Town.

"We ask that all Ridgefielders follow CDC guidelines and wear face coverings in public settings. There are many recommended homemade options that can be fashioned from household items or common materials," First Selectman said in a news release. "This adds an extra measure of protection. However, continue to practice social distancing if you must go out."

Marconi, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, thanked well-wishers, saying, "I assure you I am doing well and feel like I’ve turned the corner."

Another 71 new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Connecticut, bringing the total to 277. It was the highest single-day reporting total for deaths in Connecticut since the pandemic began.

Connecticut also saw another 874 positive tests out of 2,350 reported. There were 87 more hospitalizations as well, bringing that total to 277.
