Latest Ridgefield Coronavirus Update: 127 Active Cases

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed there are 127 cases of the new coronavirus in the Town as of Tuesday, up one from Monday.

All residents have been asked to wear face coverings/masks in public.

"This supports a directive by Governor Lamont which also asks that people picking up take-out food or drink wear face coverings if they have to go inside. The CDC emphasis that 'wearing face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), is necessary especially in areas of significant community-based transmission,'" the Office of Emergency Management posted on the Town website.

Connecticut had another 23 coronavirus associated deaths reported Tuesday along with 608 new lab-confirmed cases and a net hospitalization increase of 19 patients — one of the state's lowest net increases for hospitalizations for the virus to date.

A total of 1,532 tests were reported in the latest batch. There have been 13,989 confirmed coronavirus cases, 671 deaths and 1,779 current hospitalizations in Connecticut.
