Long-Time Ridgefield Town Clerk Resigns
The Board of Selectmen will appoint an interim successor.

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- Town Clerk Barbara Serfilippi is resigning from her office after 39 years at the post, The Ridgefield Press is reporting. Her resignation takes effect August 31.
Although the position is an elected one, the Board of Selectman have decided to appoint someone to the role in the interim from September 1 through the November elections in 2019.
The Board will be interviewing candidates for the job, who must be a Ridgefield resident, a voter, and a Republican -- the town's charter dictates that a replacement for an elected official be of the same political party.
