Murphy, Senators Call for Investigation of Sober Homes: Report
The move comes just two months after the apparent opioid overdose death of a 29-year-old man from Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Less than two months after the death of a 29-year-old Ridgefield man at a sober home in Torrington, Sen. Chris Murphy and his colleagues have made a call for investigations at sober living facilities, reports the Weston Forum.
Murphy, alongside Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), penned a letter to the United States Comptroller General's Office calling for it to review sober homes in an effort to understand their role in substance abuse recovery. Murphy cited several incidents at Connecticut sober homes in reference to the need for the investigation.
The move comes shortly after Ridgefield lost one of its own at a sober home. David Anderson of Ridgefield died after suffering an apparent opioid overdose at a sober home in Torrington on Jan. 7
