BROOKFIELD, CT — Police K-9 Officer Tango has reported for duty with the Brookfield Police Department

After four months of training, the 16-month-old Belgian Malinois successfully passed certification standards and was placed into service in the patrol division, alongside partner Sgt. Joseph Kyek.

Following the sudden passing of K-9 Major in March, Kyek and his team were tasked with finding his replacement. Tango was chosen in April, and immediately began testing and training, according to police officials. The K-9 officer was trained in-house, with assistance from members of the Stamford Police Department.
