New Senior Class at The Meetinghouse Explores the Music and Legacy of Joni Mitchell

Ridgefield, CT — This summer, The Meetinghouse in Ridgefield invites older adults to join a new 10-week class delving into the timeless artistry of singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. As part of the ongoing Anthologies series, this class will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, beginning August 26 and running through October 28, 2025.
Through song, story, and discussion, participants will explore the lyrical landscapes and creative evolution of one of the most influential musicians of our time. Each week will focus on a different song from Mitchell’s expansive repertoire, offering insight into the moments, memories, and movements behind her music.
The class is open to all curious minds and music lovers—no prior musical or creative writing experience necessary. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or newly discovering her work, this class offers a meaningful and inspiring space for reflection and conversation.
Participants are also encouraged to arrive early and enjoy The Meetinghouse Café, a welcoming community spot offering coffee, tea, and locally baked treats. It’s the perfect way to ease into a Tuesday afternoon of music, memory, and connection.
