New Study Examines Number of Connecticut Ashley Madison 'Cheaters'

In August one study mapped out a list of towns and the numbers of users in each Connecticut community. This is a new list.

The picture for Ashley Madison says “ssshhh.” But the website for those who may violate their wedding vows is not so secret anymore.

Last month, Patch provided a list of Connecticut towns with the highest number of Ashley Madison accounts, deriving that information from a map called “Malfideleco,” which means “infidelity” in the Esperanto language.

Now RoadSnacks has a list (see below) of towns who use the adultery site, and their percentage of users. No names were revealed.

According to RoadSnacks, there were over 32 million accounts created on Ashley Madison, and the going consensus is that almost all of them were created by men. After analyzing 135 cities and towns, the site provided the below list with the highest percentage of Ashley Madison accounts in Connecticut.

Is this list plausible? In a 2014 report, Psychology Today magazine said more than 90 percent of Americans believe infidelity is unacceptable, yet 30 to 40 percent of the people engage in it. “Infidelity is associated with adverse outcomes such as depression, domestic violence, divorce, even homicide,” according to the report.

The revelations go back more than two months, when a group of hackers called The Impact Team broke into Ashley Madison’s data, obtaining names and personal information - credit card info, sexual habits, likes and desires and such.

Some have targeted the hackers and the company, looking to punish them both for the data breach. The Canadian government, where Ashley Madison is located, said it is investigating two suicides possibly related to the hack, and some attorneys who have filed $578 million class action lawsuit against the company.

Ashley Madison is offering a $500,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the people involved in the hack.
