RIDGEFIELD, CT — Anthony Bochichio, 85, of Ridgefield, longtime resident of Greenwich, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
Anthony was born in New York City on October 20, 1937; loving son of the late Philip and Josephine (Angeletti) Bochichio. As a young boy, Anthony enjoyed collecting stamps and playing games such as Skellies and Ringolevio, with his friends; he was also a Boy Scout. He attended PS 130 in Manhattan and graduated from Brooklyn Technical School, class of 1955, where he was profound in mathematics.

Anthony was only 17 years old when his father passed on unexpectedly. Therefore, instead of going to college right away, he focused on being the best provider to his mom and sisters. Often working throughout the day and taking classes at Brooklyn College at night, he always found time to treat his sisters to special and unique gifts, whether it was their very first Polaroid camera or a new pair of ice skates. His kindness will never be forgotten.
Tony was retired from the construction business. Right after high school, he went to work for H.A. Sloan Associates from 1955 to 1960 as an Estimator and Cost Consultant. He then moved on to Marson Construction Corporation (later known as Marson Contracting Company), as Vice President and Chief Estimator, retiring in 2010. During his retirement, his passion for the business drove him to continue sharing his storehouse of knowledge, including beginning his own consulting firm, Greenwich Construction Consultants. Through his work, spanning over 55 years in construction, he helped create and change the Manhattan skyline.

In his spare time, Anthony loved spending time with family and friends. He was always available to provide advice and guidance; a true role model in every sense. He also took an interest in many hobbies, including photography, music, art, stamps and coins, as well as chess; as a younger man, he would often walk to Washington Square Park with his chess board to engage in spontaneous chess matches with other players. He was a devout Roman Catholic, and received all of his sacraments; he prayed the Rosary daily. One of his greatest joys was being with his grandson, Henry; who is also his godson.
Anthony is survived by his daughter; Laura Flood and her husband, Richard; his son, Anthony Bochichio, Jr. and his adored grandson, Henry Flood. In addition, Anthony is survived by his sisters Phyllis Sullivan (predeceased by her husband James) and Carolyn Ruggiero and her husband, Alan as well as his nieces and nephews; Veronica, Anthony and Josephine Sullivan and Christine, Michael and John Ruggiero; and his spouse Gail.
Anthony was predeceased by his wife, Virginia (Taranto) Bochichio, to whom he was married for 31 years.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately.
Contributions in Anthony’s memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – PO Box 849168; Boston, MA 02284. Held in the highest regard by the Bochichio family for the love, care and service they provided to Virginia, who was a survivor of Non-Hodgkin’s B-Cell Lymphoma. Tony spent infinite hours by her side. We are eternally grateful to them.
