Two 18-year-old Ridgefield residents died after their plane crashed into a field in New York in 2015.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) has determined a probable cause for the 2015 plane crash that took the lives of two 18-year-old college students from Ridgefield in September of 2015, reports the Ridgefield Press.
The board determined that an "aerodynamic stall" and "total loss of engine power has been determined as the probable cause of a crash that resulted in the death of pilot Catherine Depuy and passenger Ryan Adams. The Colgate University students were killed when their single-engine Cessna plane crashed into a field in Morrisville, N.Y.
The NTSB further determined that it had been 35 years since the plane's engine had been overhauled and six months since it was last inspected. The airplane had been operated around 55 hours since the inspection.
