Petitioners Want Anti-Fracking Law on Meeting Agenda
They have over half of the required signatures.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Petitioners have more than half the signatures required to call a town meeting to consider adoption of an anti-fracking ordinance, The Ridgefield Press is reporting. The ordinance described would be more stringent than the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities’ draft that town officials had been considering.
The new orinance would not only prohibit oil and gas fracking in Ridgefield, but restrict the use of by-products from the process.
Petitioners need 369 signatures to get on the agenda, and hope to clear that number by November 8.
