Ridgefield Firefighters Tackle Chimney Fire At Condominium Complex

Firefighters contained a chimney fire at Fox Hill Condos in Ridgefield on Saturday

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Ridgefield firefighters responded to a chimney fire at the Fox Hill Condominiums on April 25, containing the blaze and preventing further damage, according to the Ridgefield Fire Department.

The department said the fire extended into and outside of a unit but was brought under control through a coordinated response. Firefighters opened walls to extinguish hidden fire and stop its spread.

Captain Chris Alward was the first arriving officer, while Assistant Chief Tony Cerulli served as incident commander. Chief Rommie Duckworth was assigned as safety officer, the department said.

The Ridgefield Fire Department reported no injuries to occupants or firefighters.

Mutual aid was provided by crews from Georgetown, Wilton and Danbury, which assisted at the scene, according to the department.

Fire officials said displaced residents are being assisted with accommodations through coordination with the American Red Cross.
